Sample Recipe Preview: Veg Manchurian Dry
Here is a small glimpse of what you will learn in the workshop.
Ingredients
For the Manchurian balls:
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- ½ cup grated carrot
- ÂĽ cup finely chopped capsicum
- 2 tbsp finely chopped spring onion
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- ½ tsp black pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
For the sauce:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
- 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
- 2 tbsp chopped spring onion whites
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp red chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
- ½ tsp vinegar
- ÂĽ tsp black pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp water
- Spring onion greens for garnish
Method
- In a bowl, mix cabbage, carrot, capsicum, spring onion, ginger-garlic paste, black pepper, salt, cornflour, and all-purpose flour.
- Mix well and shape into small balls. Add very little water only if required.
- Heat oil and fry the balls until crisp and golden. Keep them aside.
- For the sauce, heat oil in a pan.
- Add chopped garlic, ginger, and spring onion whites. Sauté on high flame for a few seconds.
- Add soy sauce, red chilli sauce, tomato ketchup, vinegar, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
- Add cornflour slurry and cook until the sauce becomes glossy and slightly thick.
- Add the fried Manchurian balls and toss quickly so they are coated well.
- Garnish with spring onion greens and serve hot.
