Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp milk powder, optional
  • 2 tbsp softened butter or oil
  • ¾ cup warm milk or water, as required

For finishing:

  • Milk for brushing
  • Sesame seeds
  • Butter for brushing after baking

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and milk powder.
  2. Add warm milk or water gradually and begin mixing to form a soft dough.
  3. Add butter or oil and knead until the dough becomes smooth, soft, and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough and allow it to proof until it doubles in size.
  5. Punch down the dough gently and divide it into equal portions.
  6. Shape each portion into a smooth round bun.
